Safe Boating Exam: The Peterborough Red Cross will be conducting Pleasure Craft Operators Card testing from 7 - 8 p.m., at the Red Cross office (565 Water St., Peterborough). All boaters operating vessels 4m and under are now required by law to possess a valid Pleasure Craft Operator's Card. The Canadian Red Cross offers study materials, testing, and licensing at the local Peterborough office. The test costs $35. A mark of 75% is required to pass. Alternate test times can be arranged. Classic Car Show: The Warsaw Lions Club hosts Warsaw Cruise Night on Wednesdays from 6 - 8:30 p.m. at Warsaw Lions Park (South St., Warsaw). All are invited to bring their classic cars or just themselves and their family. The evenings include a BBQ, 50/50 draws, music of the ‘50s and ‘60s, home baked pie, and prizes for car owners and their kids. Warsaw is 20+ minutes NE of Peterborough. Admission is by donation. Cemetery Tour: Trent Valley Archives hosts a Tour of Little Lake Cemetery every Sunday from 4 - 5 p.m. at the Cemetery (Haggart St., Peterborough). Participants experience a historical tour through this lovely garden cemetery. Tours differ each month from June –August (June - Victorian Mourning; July - Their Spirit Lives On; August - Tragic Tales). Tickets are $10 per person. For more information call (705) 745-4404.

Historic Walk: Trent Valley Archives hosts Eerie Ashburnham Ghost Walks from on Friday evenings from 9 - 11 p.m., meeting at Quaker Park (Corner of Hunter St. and Driscoll Terrace, East City, Peterborough). Participants will explore the ghostly past of the eerie village of Ashburnham from Quaker Oats to the Lift Lock. No reservations necessary. Tickets are $10 per person. Guided Hike:  The Otonabee Region Conservation Foundation present guided hikes of the Warsaw Caves (289 Caves Rd., Warsaw). Art Festival: The Stony Lake Cottager's Association hosts the Juniper Island Art Festival (Juniper Island, Stony Lake). The opening reception will be held on Saturday between 4 - 7 p.m., wine and hors d'oeuvres will be served. Viewing and sales will continue on Sunday from 10:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. Transportation to the island can be arranged by calling the marina at Viamede Resort, (705) 654-3344. A round trip costs $20 and must be booked 24 hours in advance. Admission is by donation. Proceeds will be used by the Association for the upkeep of the historic building. Paddle & Paint: Wild Rock Outfitters and the Art Gallery of Peterborough host an overnight paddle at Serpentine Lake as part of the Paddle and Paint series. Participants will learn both the basics and the finer points of creating works of art while out on the land. This is a relaxed two-day trip in the heart of the Kawarthas that will include two short portages to access this beautiful island filled lake. Canadian Model Aircraft Championship: The Kawartha Lakes Radio Control Flyers hosts the Canadian Nation RC Scale Model Aircraft Championship from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m., at the Kawartha Lakes RC Flying Field (571 Pigeon Lake Rd., (CR #17), Lindsay). Detailed miniature biplanes, fighters, bombers, WWI, WWII, and civilian aircraft will be on display and flying at the airfield. Admission is free. For more information call (705) 738-6349.

Workshop: The Ecology Park hosts a workshop on Getting to Know Trees: An Introduction to Tree Identification from 2 - 3:30 p.m. at the Ecology Park (Ashburnham Dr. south of Lansdowne, Peterborough). Monster Truck Show & Demolition Derby: The Lindsay Agricultural Society hosts Monster Madness a Monster Truck Show & Demolition Derby from 9:30 a.m., at the Lindsay Fairgrounds (354 Angeline St., Lindsay). The main event starts at 1 pm. Features include "Prowler" & "Predator", Demolition Derby – ATV Challenge. Advance tickets are $17 for adults and $12 for children under 12, available at the Exhibition Office. Golf Tournament: Hospice Peterborough hosts the 3rd Annual Golf Tournament in memory of Bernie Cahill, at 11 a.m., at the Black Diamond Golf Club (705 Pontypool Rd., Pontypool). Golfers will be treated to a barbecue lunch, 18 holes of golf, a power cart, team photos, a putting green contest, a goodie bag, a full course dinner, a silent auction and prizes.
