Performance Camp: The Blue Diamond Performance Studio presents the Sing! Dance! Make a Video! Idol Camp from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., at the Studio (location tba, Peterborough). Participants will receive voice coaching, dance lessons and will learn the basics of video production. Solo and group videos will be shot on Friday. Contest: The Peterborough Public Library and Parents for French present a French Comic Strip contest daily from 10:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. at the Peterborough Public Library (345 Aylmer St., Peterborough). Cooking Course:  The Learning Source presents Kids in the Kitchen from 1 - 4 p.m., at St. Paul's Presbyterian Church (corner of Murray and Water Sts., Peterborough). Participants will learn how to make tasty breakfasts and lunches, baked treats, fancy meals and more. The course is designed for children ages 7 - 12. Children's Camps: The Peterborough Museum and Archives presents Summer Discovery 2008, with programs running weekdays from 8:45 a.m. - 4 p.m. at the Museum (Museum Dr., Hunter St. E., Peterborough). Eight weeks of programming including: Milly the Mermaid, Space Academy, Time Travel and More! Registration fees are $65 for a full-week, half-day program, and $55 for a four-day, half-day program. Workshops: The Ecology Park (Ashburnham Rd., Peterborough) presents the popular Earth Adventures program for children ages 5 - 10. The program runs on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 1:30 - 3:30 p.m. Children participate in a range of earth-oriented games, crafts, music, stories and discovery. Each program is different, and children may register for one or more afternoons throughout the summer. The cost is $5 per child, per afternoon. Family Sundays: The Art Gallery of Peterborough hosts Family Sundays from 1 - 5 p.m. at the art gallery (250 Crescent St., Peterborough). Drama Camp: The Market Hall presents Monologue Mayhem at Market Hall (336 George St., Peterborough). A series of fun, interactive workshops lead by Phil Oakley will help students who already have an interest in the performing arts build characters and create dramatic scenes through the use of monologues.
